THE QUICK DRAW

I like to give people the most bang for their buck, so when I decided to turn pro as a balloon artist, face-painting seemed an excellent addition to my repertoire of party panache. As with any other skill practice makes perfect and after several years of entertaining Seattle's children my skills as a face-painter are no longer supplemental; if you can think of it I can paint it. Unicorns, dragons, fairy princesses and rocket ships are no problem at birthdays and other typically small events, however... when I'm hired for festivals or other large events I of course need to consider time versus quantity of people and will therefore keep things short and simple.

Juggling roles as twister and painter has never been a problem at birthdays but for large events it just isn't practical for one man to do both. So for the big jobs I prefer to work as EITHER a balloon artist OR a face-painter.

DRESS CASUAL

You'll notice that I don't dress like a clown. I've never been into goofballs jumping up and down in rainbow wigs, big shoes or cat-in-the-hat outfits; I'm the sort person who prefers to let his work speak its self and consequently I put more effort into that than my costume. When I needed to come up with a "face-painter persona" I decided to dress down and try look like a stereotypical artist... My more discerning clients appreciate it.

FACE-PAINTING Q&A

Q: What do I use?
A: My face-paints are Kyrolan brand, specifically the Aqua Color set... Kryolan makeup is water based and oil free, washes easily out of clothes/furniture, dries quickly and is recommended for "universal use" meaning it should be safe for all sorts of allergies.

Q: What do I need?
A: When hiring me to paint I'll just need a table, two chairs and a cup of water.

Q: Can you stencil?
A: I still do things the old fashion way... with a brush. No spray guns, no stencils, no pre-made wet-to-activate temporary tattoos; just skilled hands and imagination.

If your next event could use some above average artistry don't delay, book Beny.
